Our mission

Helping communities thrive, one local visit at a time

Impact Map connects people who care about their communities with the businesses and volunteers who are actively making them better. Every visit, every dollar spent locally, and every hour volunteered adds up.

Why Impact Map exists

Most people want to support local businesses and community organizations — they just don't know where to find them or how to tell which ones are genuinely making a difference.

Impact Map was built to solve that. We verify businesses and volunteer organizations against a clear set of criteria, assign an Impact Score based on real community contributions, and put them on a map so you can discover them wherever you are.

When you visit a listed business, you earn points. Those points unlock rewards — and more importantly, they signal to the community that these places are worth supporting.

What is the Impact Score?

Every business and organization on Impact Map receives an Impact Score from 0–100. It's calculated from five categories:

1

Local ownership

Is the business independently owned and operated in the community?

2

Environmental practices

Does the business reduce waste, use sustainable materials, or minimize its footprint?

3

Community involvement

Does the business sponsor local events, donate to causes, or employ locally?

4

Fair labor

Does the business pay fair wages and offer good working conditions?

5

Transparency

Does the business openly share its practices and respond to community feedback?

Scores are reviewed every 6 months. Businesses can submit evidence to improve their score at any time.

The verified checkmark

A blue verified checkmark means our team has reviewed the business's documentation and confirmed it meets our baseline standards for local ownership and community contribution. Verification is free and open to any qualifying business.
